E-PL7/1,8 17mm/MF Problem

Hi, I just bought the 1,8/17mm to my E-PL7. One of the reasons was the easy way to enter MF by pulling the focus ring backwards - no need to enter any menus - so I thought. But...... the camera switched to manual focus OK, but my settings with focus peeking and enlargement of the view does not work - unless I enter these settings in the meny...... Firmware: Body 1.2 Lens 1.0 Any solution to this anybody? Regards Kjell

Put Focus peaking and/ or Enlargement on a function button that you can switch on and off Regards Schappi

Thanks for your answer! Yes I have the enlargement button set to AF/MF, but would have liked my MF-settings to be activated just by pulling the focus ring - that would make the switching even faster. Maybe I am asking too much here..... I even just updated the lens to 1.1 but nothing changes. In the update description it says: "Supports MF clutch (Snapshot Focus) disabled settings in camera settings." Not sure what that means..... Regards Kjell

That works in all the other lenses with snapshot ring, but not in the 17 mm. Is like that. For MF assistance, you need the menu (or a button....). Just in this lens. Best regards, Harald

17/2,8 is an older lens. There is no electrical contact when using the focus ring. And so there is no focus peeking, no enlargement :-( Regards .willi.

I think, the 1,8 was ment. It is an "older" model, but still very good... Harald

OK - Thanks! I have to live with MF this way ;-) It´s really a very good lens - especially after I bought it here in Sweden during the Black Friday sales with the price reduced with 20%...... Add to that the Olympus cash back campaign of 900 SEK (around €100) I got a VERY good price indeed. Regards Kjell
